Ministries

Liturgical Ministries

St. Pius X Parish has a rich liturgical life. Active participation by parishioners enhances this experience for us all.

There are many Liturgical Ministries in which parish members can be involved: playing a musical instrument, singing in a choir, or cantoring, reading the Word of God, being an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion, ushering, greeting, or being a server at Mass.

We welcome your input and interest in these ministries. No experience is needed, and training is provided if necessary. If you have any questions or would like to participate, please contact by phone or email the person listed on the ministry’s page.

In any case, come and celebrate with us!

Basic Christian Community Group

The Basic Christian Community Group is a set of small parishioner groups with eight to ten members each who are working on becoming (better) Intentional Disciples of Christ. Existing small groups are open to new members, and we are always trying to help new groups to form. For more information call Paul or Carol Parowski at 570.539.4283 or email at paulparowski1@verizon.net or carolparowski@verizon.net.

Shepherd’s Pie

We usually freeze these items so that we can hand them out on the last Thursday of the month here at St. Pius X, and at various food distribution opportunities, as well as calls to our church for assistance. We also partner with Martha’s Table at All Saints Episcopal Church on Market Street to help with their community meals on the first and third Wednesdays of the month and cook and serve the meal there on the fifth Wednesday of the month. We are expanding to provide a Thanksgiving dinner open to the community and look to find other ways to serve the hungry in our community. Shepherd’s Pie is a group of volunteers who enjoy working and serving together. If you would like to help with this ministry, please contact Sandy Corrigan at 570.743.3373.
